I usually get my mom to do my taxes for me =) but this year I lived in two different states and she didn't think she could do it right. Soooo I need to go get them done and I dont want to pay some crazy amount considering the gov't scammed me for enough already...
I now live in Virginia and moved here last April... But I also lived and working in North Carolina...
I only know of the big names like Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block... Anyone know of a good place?

Turbo Tax - NEVER NEVER NEVER go to H&R Block!
They are very expensice and they DO NOT train their preparers properly. Many important areas are marked in the taxt as "beyond the scope of this course." I have heard HORROR stories from fomer clients on their tax returns!!!
I have preparered taxed for over 15 years and I knew more than the teacher! (Had to take the course to be in compliance with CA law.) We kept correcting the teacher on errors. Also, they hired people that FLUNKED the final. If they did that in my area, I assume it's done elswhere.

Yeah, Get all your information that you would take to someone that would do your taxes and just go to H&R Block.com You can do your taxes yourself, it takes about an hour, it's cheap, and very simple. If you follow a cook book recipe you can do this.
