I don't like them racing in the Busch Series either, but I do understand that the big name drivers bring fans to the stands and that's how NASCAR makes money on Saturday too. I think the Nextel Cup Drivers should each get 10 races or less during the Busch Season. That way they couldn't win the championship, and the young drivers would learn with the best. Yet the fans would still come.

I think that they should be kept separated from each other to a point. When the Busch racers compete with the nextel racers it gives "Buschwackers" more experience, also it causes more people to watch the busch races. Here is what I think should be the rules. I think that only nextel cup rookies should be able to race in Busch, but even then the should only be allowed to race 5 races a year and can not get any points for the series.

I don't really like the NEXTEL cup drivers racing in the Busch series. But if they are going to allow them to-they should limit it to 5 cup regulars and they should qualify for the race each week(for pit selection only) Then start at the back of the field.
The cup guys are supposed to be better and more knowledgeable than the BUSCH drivers. So they should give them a better chance to win,and get points.

me thinks, and this is my opinion and my opinion only, the nextel drivers could race in the busch series, but not enough times to run for the chase in a busch series championship. this is actaully a driver improvement series for nextel also. if a nextel driver comes and wins most all the race from ealrier learned techniques, strategy, and already has the money, how are busch series rookies ever going to obtain what they'd need to win? and have saturday money in the shop?
NO. No nextel drivers in Busch series more than 5 races.

I dont buy into the "Nextel drivers put fans in the seats" theory. Busch Series races in California and Las Vegas were nowhere close to being sold out. Rows of empty seats were plainly visible on tv.
The top 20 NEXTEL Cup drivers should NOT be allowed to compete in Busch Series the following season (oh, and by the way, the name is changing, since Anhueser-Busch isn't renewing it's sponsorship deal. Get ready for the "Your Company Name Here" Series ).

not me and here is why,
if nextel cup drivers don't race in the busch, then the regular busch drivers won't get noticed by cup teams. Had David Gilliland won the race in wherever he did with no cup drivers, he would not be in the 38 car he is in today because there wouldn't had even been a stat saying the cup drivers won all the races up to that pt, because cup drivers wouldn't have been able to race in that series

At one time there was a very big difference in the two.The cup division was the Grand National Division. These were new cars. The for runner was the NASCAR Sportsman division,The cars had a different style engine and was much shorter wheel base.
When the shift to the modern era in the 70's the sportsman division was scrapped and the Grand Nationals became Winston Cup.The sportsman division eventually became The Busch Grand National series, later they dropped grand national and the cars became more of a cup looking car.Though not exactly the same cup teams were able to get some knowledge for raceday from the Busch races.
I personally think cup drivers should be limited to 5 races per year. And that the style cars should be modified.Bottom lineno CUP drivers in the BUSCH series.

I agree with you completely, and Earnhardt will be racing Busch this upcoming weekend.
The other argument for it is to give the guys a little higher level experience so that when they DO hit the big leagues, they can hang a little closer, rather than getting run over or causing wrecks.
My thought is that if the Nextel Cup guys want to race in Busch, it should count for NOTHING. No points, no standings, no guts, no glory. And if they win, it should go to the first Busch series guy in line. They should gt absolutely nothing for it.
But hey, I'm just a girl. ;)

I say no racing period in the Busch series for Nextel Cup racers. It serves no point, except to stoke the Cup drivers ego a little, and make him a little extra money.
