It doesn't hurt to call....it's her job to be bothered. Anyway, it is possible that 1 could have been a carrier (germs have a way to find themselves among the healthy quite easily) and passed it to your little puppy who doesnt have as strong of an immune system as an adult dog.

It could be something as simple as allergies. I wouldn't, automatically, assume kennel cough unless the pup has been around some dogs that he/she doesn't live with. (like dog shows or in a boarding kennel).
I have a big dog that used to cough all the time. I got him when he was 2 years old and his former owner said she thought it was from some damage her ex had done to him with a choke collar. I took him to the vet and he determined it was a reaction to outdoor allergens. 50mg Benadryl, twice a day for a few weeks ended it. Now, when he starts rubbing his ears with his dew claws or groveling in the carpet when he comes in the house, and I give him 25mg Benadryl and he's just fine. (I did say he's a big dog, didn't I? 160 pounds at the time)
But, like everybody else said, ask the vet. It won't hurt to put your mind at ease.

Did the *****(mother) have kennel cough? Was the puppy tested for worms? Is this puppy kept indoors or outdoors, because it might have an allergy to something????

It could have a respiratory infections. Or it could have kennel cough. If she has not been vaccinated yet. So I would take her to the vet if it continues either way.

could be kennel cough that is the usual. have all your dogs had their dhlp vaccinations? if not that is probably what it is and it is contageous and they will continue to pass it around and it won't get better without antibiotics it is an awful cruel disease. it hurts their throat it is an equivalent to strep throat to humans
