Check into HandFasting this is very common for a Wiccan Wedding..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handfasting

Also included are just some other sites on Pagan Style Weddings.

To mix up what you both want, you can look into dressing in more of a goth/punk way and have a hand fasting done.

Handfasting... very beautiful stuff. I've seen several. The TV show "Who's Wedding Is It Anyway?" actually featured an amazing Goth wedding... the bride looked STUNNING in her handcrafted (from an old dress) bridal gown! It wasn't all hokey either... it was actually stunning and she was breathtaking.

It's often difficult to execute if you're using certain vendors... getting a planner might help... some places get twitchy about Goth (stupid I know) and won't do some stuff.

Anyway look up "handfastings"... and there's even a book out there with the whole Rite in there if you're interested, which I saw at Borders' one day, in the metaphysical/Wiccan section. You'll find LOADS of the stuff.

Happy hunting and best wishes!

Wiccan marriage ceremonies are called Handfasting. Whether the ceremony can either be legal or just a private spiritual commitment to each other. It is up to the couple. Depending on the state where the handfasting is done, and whether or not the priest or priestess is a legally recognized minister, the ceremony itself may be legally binding, or couples may choose to make it legal by also having a civil ceremony. They are generally performed outdoors to be closer to the nature element. I have a site that has a sample handfasting ritual and it also has a ceremony to a gothic style. They're both pretty cool. Email me and I can give you the link. mouse14592000@yahoo.com

Wiccan "weddings" are called "Handfasting".

This union is entered to by both consenting parties (as with any ceremony) - the BIG difference here though is that if the partners who are "handfasted" to each other decide to go their separate ways, there is NO divorce because a Handfasting is just that - a joining of hands in a union.

State offices and state officials DO NOT view this ceremony as an actual legal-binding "wedding".

Have a lovely rest of the day. Bright Blessings and CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming wedding.

There is really no ceremonial wiccian wedding now as there is really no ceremonial church wedding.....you can write your vows, you can plan where and when, anybody can walk you down the asile today.......what is important to you?

I had a wiccan wedding by adding a handfasting in with our goblets during our cermony, the christians that where there had no idea. I did not insult my familys beliefs and I still upheld my traditions. Everyone still to this day asks me when we renew our vows because it was so magickal!

Look up handfastings.....they truly are beautiful.

Use RED rose petals to make your circle. We did this once and it went real good with the black stuff.

Also use a red colored cotton rope to bind the couple together at the wrists.

Have a big bowl of really red punch and call it Blood Wine or something.

You can add any one of these and wont affect the way the wiccan handfasting(wedding) is done.

That depends on your tradition.

If you lack a tradition, you can make the wedding be whatever you want....it might not mean anything legally, but it depends on you.

If you have a tradition, the things allowed in your wedding are going to be found therein. For most traditions, clothing and music aren't something the officiant cares about.
