the satellite radio is cutting in and out once in a while. like it is skipping or something. we didn't have it professionally installed yet. would it stop after that do u think? it also loses signal more than i thought it would like when at the gas station and when driving by tractor trailers. can anybody advise me on this?

where is the antenna ? it needs to be in the roof or outside the trunk

inside gas stations there is a metal roof the signal is not going to pass

the sat antenna needs to look at the sky at all times

I'm not an expert in electronics, but could be one or a combination of the following:
1. Loose wire connections... Check your connection from the receiver to the antenna.
2. Interference.... is your antenna wire crossing any other electrical wires on its route back to the antenna.
3. Antenna placement.... Make sure your antenna is place somewhere on your car (Top or trunk or hood) that is has a clear view to the sky. It wont work well if you just toss the antenna up on your dash inside the car.
4. Faulty equipment... It could be that your antenna the wiring or receiver is faulty. Take it to a professional to have it check for problems.

you should get it professionally installed. it sounds like the antenna is giving you problems. maybe you should gave the antenna checked out while you are having it installed
