Its a good thing. Hopefully, it will put pressure on the muslim community to take a stand on their religion and show it is not all bad. As of yet I have heard little from the muslim community denouncing the extremeist behavior.

Gosh, I guess I am the scourge of the earth? LOL Guess it is a bad thing cos I am a pretty nice lady who is also a Muslim. I never even step on bugs, let alone humans.
A serious answer though. Anything that can be used to divide humanity into further bits and pieces is bad. Religions are almost all based on strong and good motives. However, religion can also be used by the unscrupulous to mold people into weapons.
You have societies that are being demolished and educations terminated resulting in unbelievable depths of ignorance making good people prone to the twisted directives of their leaders. Most Muslims truly are decent folk. Just as are most Christians.

THIS is the true spirit of Islam in action in America
The rest is propaganda. It is propaganda by your government to give you a target of hatred, to justify an unjust war. It is propaganda by the twisting of the Koran so that young men and women are warped and do things no decent Muslim would even consider.
Is there that much difference between a young Christian soldier praying before Christ before going out to kill innocent Iraqis from a jihadist blowing up people? They aer all being used by their religion to put a positive spin on death. Yet where in the Bible is such a thing condoned? Nowhere. NO more so than in the Koran! Suicide and murder are forbidden by God/Allah.
Remember as there is an agenda to ruin the morality of the western world and bring it into the New World Order, so is there a similar attack on the Muslim world to establish the same goals. Each side is blamed for the actions of the other to create strife and culminate in a war that wipes out christians and Muslims.
The Muslim world was taught of the Great Satan of the West. Meanwhile the West is being pushed to Islamophobia.
Darling, just look past the labels. See what is being done to the human race by those who seek to own us body and soul.
Don't buy into it, sonny. Please do not.
omg look behind you! Adia Arek is there with a smile on his face!
Islamophobia!

It is in fact a bad thing to lump an entire culture and community into a stereotype and fear that label.
In my opinion if you do a bit of research you'll likely find that the dark aspects of Islam that the news tends to focus upon are a distinct minority. Minorities tend to make noise out of proportion to their representation. But I'm not going to get into that any deeper just now.
As for not finding any moderate Muslims. At a guess it's how you approach them. Your question as you may of noticed has gotten a lot of hostile responses from those who are Muslim. They are not unjustified in their anger as the way you have phrased the question is in fact insulting.

Question: "Is Islamaphobia a bad thing?"
Answer: 'Islamophobia' is not a REAL thing.
The word 'Islamophobia' was INVENTED in order for Muslims and terror-front groups like CAIR to be able to negatively label ANYONE who has legitimate criticism of Islam. The fact that the founder of Islam was a pedophile child rapist is a legitimate criticism of Islam. Yet, they would label me with this fake word to try and divert attention from this fact of history.
Do you know what a "phobia" is? it is a psychological condition that creates a panicked, anxiety response to whatever the phobia is. For example- acrophobia= fear of heights, claustrophobia=fear of enclosed spaces...etc. These phobias create a profound physiological response due to an intense fear.
I've never ever ever in my life seen or heard of anyone who developed an intense panic when they came in proximity to a muslim or a copy of the Qu'ran.
"Islamophobia" does not exist
If you want to say that some people are "prejudiced" against muslims, that is probably what you are really asking. If I believe I understand your intention correctly, your question really should read:
"Is it a bad thing to be prejudiced against Muslims?"
That would be a much more accurate way to phrase your question.

Any form of phobia is a bad thing if it stops you functioning. It a scoiety where you will meet people of the Islamic faith, then having a fear of them will handicap you. It is the case that 99% are absolutily fine.

Yes it is, especially if your fear is based in inaccurate information and irrational ideas. Unfortunately most people who say they hate Islam know nothing about it and don't actually know any Muslims.

It's PEOPLE you have to fear... Islam is a religion, therefore only a CONCEPT... what people do claiming that concept as a reason to execute their agenda is what you have to fear... anger, ego, arrogance, ignorance... Bush.
