I thoroughly agree. Especially since that Constitution that we hold so dear to us says, "Done in convention by the unanimous consent of the states present the seventeenth day of September in the year of our LORD one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and of the independence of the United States of America the twelfth."

"in the year of our Lord" - Jesus Christ is Lord of America. In the 1960's and 1970's it began to happen where the universities and colleges started taking this date line off of degrees or diplomas. Evolution cut a gash into America with the Big Lies. Some idiot came up with separation of church and state which was never the intention of the founders. Then all of the tolerance began. Tolerate this and Tolerate that and take God out of this and take God out of that. If we fit into the One World Order then God must be removed. Choose money or God America. Choose man's way or God's way America.

I thoroughly agree with you!

I do believe that God should be in schools and yes I do believe that it is a violation of our constitution.
For one, just like you said, we have the freedom of free speech and religion!
Mostly, I think that it is wrong to tell our kids that they can not pray in school. But at the same time when some terrible thing happens, the first thing that happens is they have a moment of silence, well what do they think the kids are doing, Hmmm.......praying!
I believe that kids need God in thier life before, during, and after school. It is wrong for the schools to deny them that right and freedom! If you do write the President, I wish you much luck. Honestly I think there should be a national vote on this issue!

~sigh~ I'm getting SO tired of this nonsense.

It is always a good idea to go to the source in things like this - which would be the Department of Education in this case.

Here's what is so (as opposed to the less-than-honest stuff people get told all the time by people with an agenda):

http://www.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/religionandschools/prayer_guidance.html

Page down to the section that reads:
Applying the Governing Principles in Particular Contexts

You'll see that there is TREMENDOUS opportunity for prayer, for bible study, for student religious groups in public schools.

There may be individual cases in which someone misunderstanding the *actual* law on this prevents or impedes what is legal. In those cases, the ACLU should be contacted at once, as they are MORE than happy to uphold the legal free religious expression of students in public schools.

It makes no sense to even have a religion in public schools. I know what it is like in both a Catholic School and the Public School system, neither is better. So while the presence of a god in the public school system seems arbitrary it is still important. Here is a hypothetical situation for you. Say you do have religion in school. What religion would you choose, Islam..Catholic..Protestant...any Pagan religions? When you limit yourself to defining one religion for a group of people who come from a multitude of different backgrounds you are sure to cause disagreements to put it mildly. The reason why religion works in a Catholic school, for example, is because that is a group of people who do not differ in faith and often ideas. If you attempt to force students of a different religion to pray to a god that is not their everyday then you are infringing on their Freedom of Religion. Besides, if you did bring one religion into the public school system you would have to bring all religions into the school system too in order to maintain equality. I hope I shed some light on why putting a religion in the public school system will not work.

Well, your question is misleading. God hasn't been taken out of the schools, just out of classes. Children are free to pray and read their bibles in-between classes, at their lockers, or on their lunch and/or recess periods. They are allowed to pray silently during the moment of silence that most schools have in the mornings. The only time school children aren't allowed to pray or read bible is during classroom time. This in no way infringes on their rights to freedom of speech or religion.

Likewise, public school teachers are allowed to pray and read their bibles between classes and on lunch and planning periods, but not when they are acting in their professional capacity as a teacher. They aren't allowed to use class time to "spread the word." Students and teachers are also free to start extracurricular religious clubs that meet after school hours.

Now, many schools have elective comparative religion classes where they explore many different religions and examine many different religious texts as literature. There is nothing wrong with that.

I am sad to say that separation of church and state prevents certain aspects of God being in public schools. Also, if you allowed christian practices you would also have to allow any other practice such as Buddhism, Wica's, Satanism, and so on. However, if you think of it abstractly God could never be totally out of public schools as long as there are Christians in those schools making a stand. I was blessed enough in my local high school to have a dominant christian school who was very lenient on this matter.

You really have no idea what either of these freedoms represent do you? These freedoms do not allow the government to stop individuals from saying what they want or believing what they want. A school is not a private individual, and so it is not free to say what it wants or believe what it wants. The students inside are free to say what they wish and believe as they wish and that freedom has not been taken away.

To keep God official in schools is against both these freedoms for students of other religions.

I agree it is unconstitutional but since we had more Murders,Abortions,Homosexuals, rapes...etc.
Grades have plummeted.
But writing the president will not help...It congress you need to talk too if to anyone. But this is all apart of Gods plan.
He is in control and we have to trust he will do whats best.
America will fall...but we will stand.
If God is for us who ca be against us...

I agree with you.
The comunism is over in my country and we can study Bible again but I don't know for how long.
Do you know that Jesus forbids us to judge?
So if we have and have and must judge a little ..and show a justice ..(I mean we the Christians), first we should know the Bible ...you cannot judge unless you know the bible..what God says..
So we should study Bible in schools. Do they study bible at Law..?Then how can they judge...?

We the Christians countries..should have only Bible in schools, not Budha..etc...or else..because our first comandement of God is ''you shall not have other gods before Me''.

So there could be an optional course of Original Bible and Christianity allowing discusionss on different views of cults...
Because if they don't want to study Bible in school it means they have no respect for the Christian God.

Budha could be studied in Japon's school or the countries where it comes from ..we the Christians are not supposed to become budhist so why study Budha in schools? When our God forbids even saying the name of other gods..?They can study Budha , Alah ..in their country.. if they want to study Budha and stay there ...Why study Alah here..is this Islam , is here saudi Arabia..Did I marry one who can marry and sleep to 2 to 4 women? Why study Budha in Christian countries in public schools..Did our kings fight for Budha or against him and others...?Is japon here..?Then why study Budha. They could go to a private course ..after school. And they can have discussions about Budha at their Bible course , optional course..if the course will be....

I really don't understand ..The king of my country who defeated the turks ...would he allow Alah in schools ? Ha ha ha..They could go their and become muslims ..if they wanted..
You see there is a difference between a king and a common man ..historically.. why the man could drink and sleep the king had to take care of the people ..to have the way to God...not to Hell..where Budha and others take you..

OK so who would judge what goes in and what dose not?

you? the Hindu guy down the street? Me?

that is why religion should not be allowed in school.

It cannot be objectively done so it is better not to be done at all. If you want religion go to a private school or learn it in your home or church.
