It's in tune with the times, people are rightly concerned about the blurring of separation between state and religion, religion needs to be placed under the microscope and carefully studied and assessed like this. Does religion really benefit society as it is claimed to? and does factual truth matter to people of faith?...it seems not to.

Naw, not yet, but I will get around to it. I did read the New York Times article where several atheists were critical of Dawkins for not better researching religion.

I haven't had the means of picking it up... I read Thomas Paine's "Age of Reason" several times over so I am sure Dawkins will be childish in comparison.

I believe in God so he is no delusion to me,but to each his own.I find it hard to believe a thinking ,conscious being like us is just simple evolution without a creator, from primordial slim to geniuses is no accident to me.also a complex, orderly universe needs a creator in my view.things just dont appear out of thin air.plus many of my prayers have been answered and i did not do it.

I read it, but unfortunately Christians are too scared of what they might find to read something of that caliber. God forbid he might raise some points and make you question the validity of your beliefs.

I have read the book - it sits on my bookshelves at home collecting dust. And before you ask, I loved it. Excellent reading material.

Decent book but I liked Sam Harris's Letters to a Christian Nation better.
It was more concise and to the point. A faster read and easier for Christians to get through if you want to give them something smaller so they are not overwhelmed.

I have read it, but I'm an atheist.
I liked it, don't get me wrong...
But it was rather like reading a lucid, put together volume of the R&S section all over again.

I have read books on atheism (by atheists), but I my personal distaste of Dr. Dawkins keeps me from reading his books.
I just find him incredibly self-righteous and the sort of person who enjoys the scent of his own farts.
