Genesis 2: 10-14
A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into fourheadwater. the name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah...The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of cush...the name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Asshur...And the fourth river is the Euphrates...

There have been a number of claims as to the actual geographic location of the Garden of Eden, though many of these have little or no connection to the text of Genesis. Most put the Garden somewhere in the Middle East near Mesopotamia. Locations as diverse as Ethiopia, Java, Sri Lanka (Adam's Peak), the Seychelles, Brabant, Jackson County, Missouri and Bristol, Florida have all been proposed as locations for the garden.
The text asserts that the Garden was planted in the eastern part of the region known as Eden, and that in Eden, the river divided into four branches: Hiddekel (also known as Tigris), Euphrates, Pishon and Gihon. While the identity of the first two is commonly accepted, the latter two rivers have been the subject of much debate. If the Garden of Eden had been near the sources of the Tigris and the Euphrates, then the narrative might have identified it as located in the Taurus Mountains, or in Anatolia.

No one really knows,

The Garden of Eden is actually a garden that was located on the east side of a region called Eden according to Genesis 2:8. The Hebrew word for Eden appears to mean "delight." We are not completely sure about its meaning.
It was a beautiful place according to Genesis 2:9-14. God provided this garden with trees and water. The trees were beautiful and provided food for the man and woman. Two of the trees were special: the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life.
A river flowed out of the garden. There is no name given for it. This river branched into four other rivers: Pishon, Gihon, Tigris, and the Euphrates. The location of the Pishon and Gihon rivers are unknown to us. Many have attempted to locate them.
Pishon. Some have said the river Pishon is the Nile River, but there is no biblical, historical or archaeological support for the claim. Scripture does say the river Pishon flowed around the land of Havilah. We do not know the location of this land and there is no river flowing around a Middle East country today. The land of Havilah and the location of the Pishon River are unknown.
Gihon. The location of the Gihon River is also unknown. The land of Cush includes the current lands of Ethiopia and Arabia. There is no river surrounding these lands.
Euphrates & Tigris. Today there are two rivers called the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, but the locations of these rivers at the time of Adam and Eve are uncertain. The New Testament seems to imply the great flood during Noah's time made changes in our world.
There is solid reason to believe the great flood changed the geography of our world. The geography of our world today is different than it was at the creation, and there is no Middle East river that branches into four rivers, two of which are the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
Tragedy. After Adam sinned, resulting in a sin cursed earth and human race, God sent Adam and Eve out of the garden.
He drove them eastward and stationed a cherubim to guard the tree of life. It appears the garden was in the Middle East and Adam went farther east. Was the garden in Egypt? Was it the land we now call Iraq? or Iran? We do not know.

Conclusion: By the time of the prophets, such as Ezekiel, we discover the garden of Eden is a desert.
The garden had probably been a desert for thousands of years before this but this is the first time we read these words. A lush, beautiful garden was a garden of just sand in Ezekiel's day. That is a picture of sin. It is a picture of what Jesus wants to do in our lives. We were once just desert - sinners. If He is your savior, you are now a lush garden - a forgiven saint!

This is debated... with no answer universally accepted.

First... the flood in the story of Noah would have revised the earth and relocated Noah randomly compared to his starting point. Thus if going by the Biblical accounts, you can't say where Noah started and can't track backward from that location.

Some say it was somewhere along the Euphrates river. Again.. that fails to be provable and is probably disprovable.

Some say its elsewhere in the continent of Africa... some say it was in Australia....

It is almost universally accepted as NOT being on North or South America.

The Genesis account says it was at the source of four great rivers, two of which are the Tigris and the Euphrates. But they know where the sources of the rivers are, and Eden is not there.

It's a myth. That's all.

Nobody really knows. There were some rivers named the Tigris and Euphrates, but the ones we know today by those names cannot possibly be the original rivers, but rather named after them. The originals would have been swallowed up by the Flood, their beds destroyed and buried.

I am confused how there was such a place designated in the first place. Did it have boundaries? It would seem that the most logical conclusion would be that it was the whole planet... since it was all supposedly free of wickedness like cold winds and dry sand.

Historically some say it was somewhere in Lower Mesopotamia. Others say it never existed at all.
I personally feel it did exist and still does when you are in the arms of the one you love.
