CFC's don't pollute, they just react with Ozone in presence of some radiation from the space, this reaction provoke a hole in the ozone layer over the pole. The reaction is a chain reaction because creates free radicals very reactive, it is similar to an atomic bomb but at a chemical level.
The free radicals come from the fluor atom caused by the radiation, those free radicals from the radiation-fluor are very reactive with the ozone molecule, breaking it and it creates more free radical which reacts with more ozone molecules........ and I am not a CFC's fan so I don't pollute either... ;-)

CFC's cause the green house effect to worsen becuase the pollution, or the toxin they release in the air turn into acids.
