It's called Orbit. And hell yeah the moon is affected by the earth gravity. Without the gravity, it wouldn't spins around the planet. Just like all the other planets is influence by the Sun gravity. And as for "why hasn't the Moon Fallen on your Head like God bonked the Apple onto New Ton's head?"
It's because earth is far away and that is also the use of atmosphere. Without atmosphere the moon will be closer to us, hence, huge tsunami..

the laws of Physics state that there is a gravitation attraction between any 2 objects. How strong that is is determined by the size of the objects, and there distance from each other. The moon as enough of a gravitational attraction to the earth to stay in orbit, however it is also attracted to something else that keeps it from plummeting down and hitting us. That would be really bad if it did. It is the gravity from the moon that gives us our tides, it would be very bad if we lost that.

the apple fell because the stem was weak.
the moon has a weaker gravitational pull than the earth, and so it is forced around us like a kite being whipped around on a string on a windless day. Besides, modern scientific theory states that the moon was formed out of debris left over from earth, so it was flung up, not toward us.
this doesn't disprove God, or gravity.

Gravity is an attractive force between any objects with mass. When an object that is not supported by anything falls due to the force of gravity of another object, it is said to be in free fall. An orbit is essentially a path of constant free fall. For example, the Moon is falling towards Earth. However, it also has an orbital speed from the momentum gained during its formation that allows it to fall around Earth with a trajectory that follows the same curve as Earth's surface. Because these paths are parallel, the Moon perpetually falls around Earth without ever touching it.

Because it has a tangential velocity aswell as a radial acceleration (due to gravity). Hence as it accelerates towards the earth it 'falls' round it. This is circular motion, and can be worked out with simple mechanics:
F=ma
F=GMm/r^2
a=v^2/r

Because the Earth and the moon are both made of magnetic elements, but they are both + so they repel each other.
If the moon ever begins to rotate, WAM, it will be sucked down and slam into the earth. Which would be pretty cool if you think about it.

This gravity is something out of fasion..
Newton and Maxwell agreed that the forces of the matter are provided by God..as I know..
But I suppose God didn't tell Newton the way He holds the univers...
Faust (by Goethe)also wanted to know ...

That would mean the Earth was the strongest gravity force in the universe...a myth that was partially changed by Gallileo suggesting the Earth wasn't the center of the universe.
There are other gravity forces at play that keep the Moon where it is.

because gravity does not exist in space, as space is a vacum. THe reson the moon does not leave the earth is becasue it is trapped in a small gravitational pull that makes it rotate around the earth
