Lets say the rapture occured tomorrow. Lets say its like the left behind series where everyone saved disappears just like that. (we wont know exactly how its going to happen til it does obviously) Im not sure if you've had any Christians talk to you or your knowledge about the bible/christianity but im thinking you know a fair amount...that being said someone told you about the rapture/tribulation and everything... would you change your mind and believe? or decide it was something else that caused people to just disappear?

The choice is obviously theirs to make, but the Bile says that they will harden their hearts toward God. I think that if a person wants to dis-believe...they will find ANY possible reason to not believe. Irregardless of how illogical that reason may be. Example....all life and its diversity came about by pure chance. Despite how mathematically improbable it is.

Dear this is a very nice question

Now I read some where about the rapture and the tribulation and I found it to be a little bit alarming.

I wanted to post a question about them but the article is no longer there so may be you can answer me

In that article the guy was claiming that the wording for the rapture are so obscured that it can be translated that the bad guys will disappear OR the good guys will disappear is this true?

I don’t want to be rude but this is what the guy was saying and here is the link to the comments on the article on netscape but the article itself is gone

http://religion.netscape.com/story/2007/02/26/will-you-be-left-behind

sorry again, I don’t mean disrespect but would appreciate your help telling me what will happen.

God bless

If people just up and disappeared I would probably believe. Seeing how I was not the one who disappeared and was not save I would go home, smoke a fat bowl and ride the rapture out playing guitar hero.

Just because your end times have come, does not mean mine have. Different people worship the same being differently. What is right for you is not the same for me. My religion does not have a "rapture" in it, and therefore, if one did occur, it would not be mine. I would remain true to what I believe and try to keep going the best way I know how.

Plus, wouldn't it be rather stupid of me to switch horses in the middle of the stream, when the other horse died?

The concept of a "rapture" is innovation added on to beliefs that arose from the Catholic Church's decisions of what did or didn't go into the Bible as a power grab, then some people got mad and split off of that, and more people got mad and split from the Lutherans, and so on and so forth ad nauseum, historically... why on earth would something that makes NO sense logically "change my mind"? There's nothing wrong with the one I have...

I guess it would depend on what exactly happened. My live-in boyfriend is is an Evangelical Christian but I grew up with more of a Buddhist upbringing. I won't dismiss anyone's faith, but the whole concept of the rapture seems a little hokey to me. Sorry!

If it was just people disappearing? No, that wouldn't convince me.

If God appeared, that'd be a different matter. Atheists really aren't asking for much in the way of evidence, but you've got to admit that believers are offering even less. It'd be child's play for a real God to demonstrate his existence. The fact that he hasn't speaks volumes, don't you think?

From what I read IE the bible, I think the Christian god to be an evil being. I wouldn't follow any evil being even if it promised me everlasting life in heaven.

I would still not worship the Christian god. He is evil.
