I am an American living in Tunisia and I love Tunisia very much! The country is so full of history (has been under the rule of Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Berbers, Ottomans, Beys, and French; played a significant part in WWII, was the center of the ancient world with Carthage as the capitol, etc) and it has so many beautiful places to visit! It is unlike any other Arab country in that is has a lot of greenery. There are also many historical ruins in just about every part of the country you go to.

The people are so warm and hospitable. They instantly welcome you as one of their own and treat you like family. Tunisia is also a very safe place. There are not many places in this world where a women can walk the streets alone in the middle of the night without fear. Yet I often take late night walks and have never had any problems and have never felt fearful.

Tunisia on a whole is a very safe country. I have lived in Tunis and Monastir and have visited other parts of the country without any problem. I do advise normal safety rules that are applicatable elsewhere, such as not dressing provocatively and to be aware of your surroundings.

The mountain region is breathtaking! There are fantastic views and an the atmosphere is reminiscent of an old town in Switzerland. Absolutely gorgeous! The coast is marvelous. The Sea is clear and picturesque. The midland and south are terrific because they offer you the chance to peek into a forgotten society - one that holds fast to tradition. I have been all over Tunisia and have visited most cities and have loved everyone because they each have their own special charm.

To learn more about Tunisia, I invite you to read any of my blogs, or look at any of my pictures.

zakynthos is getting to be real popular here in Ireland.it is a Greek island.the weather is great there and there are fantastic sites to visit.even if you are not the type of person to go sightseeing you have to visit these places.you can see turtles in the waters if you go to turtle island, you can see a shipwreck in this small cove.you go there by boat and you can go and see the blue caves they are these extraordinary caves that you see by boat as they are in the see(and after-wards you can jump off the boat and swim in the see,.be careful who you go on the boat trips with to the blue caves and the shipwreck as some of them are a rip of.we went to a place at the very end.a man in the town beforehand said that there is a military fort ahead but they were just trying you to go with them.i think they started with "p" and had brothers in the end(it was two words). i think it was potanamis brothers(the spelling isn't great.there are tons of other things you can visit as well like little churches and the colors of the water is amazing its so so blue and so clear and in 1 beach you can go out loads in the water and it was only up to your knees or ankles which is great if you have kids.there is a lovely town call volimes where you can buy the nicest honey in the world and you can buy lovely presents.we stayed in a town called Tsilivi it was lovely.you have to go and see this island sometime in your life.

Go to Mexico. From what I hear, you need more than a week to truly enjoy a Hawaiin vacation. Of course, I've never been to either, but need to get my butt in gear and get my passport so I can accompany my boyfriend to Cabo to visit his friend who is currently residing there (that's something you need to keep in mind to...if you have a passport, you're fine, if not, Hawaii).

I've never used Expedia....just travelocity and orbitz.
