Hey, well first you go see a Marine Corps recruiter who will likely feed you lots of BS and tell you what you want to hear.

You spill out your hopes and dreams to the recruiter and he/she attempts to tell you the best way to get there in the Marine Corps - but with his or her own agenda in mind.

Then, you fill out a bunch of paperwork and take the ASVAB test. The ASVAB test simply tests you in basic areas like math, English, science, mechanics, and so on. The higher the score you get on your ASVAB, the wider variety of MOS's (Military Occupational Specialties, or "jobs") you will be able to get. For example, a person with a low ASVAB score can't be a nuclear engineer in the Navy or intelligence person in the Marine Corps, but could be an infantryman or cook or mechanic.

After you take your ASVAB and fill out the preliminary paperwork and really decide you wanna enlist, you decide on your MOS, or "job," then your recruiter sets up a date where you will go to MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station).

At MEPS, you take a physical and get your seeing and hearing checked and get naked and bend over for the doctor and get naked with other female enlistees and do the "duck walk" and so on. Then after you pass your physical, you go see the Marine Corps career counselor who is the one that types your contract up. So your recruiter doesn't do anything besides "guide" you in the process and help get a vacancy control number (opening) for the job (MOS) you want to get. But your enlistment bonuses, benefits, boot camp ship date, MOS, maybe even unit, school specialities and whatnot go into your contract.

And in the end, that contract is LEGALLY BINDING and whatever BS your recruiter feeds you isn't, so whatever you want, GET IT IN WRITING in that contract.

Anyways, after you sign your contract you go swear in and then come back when your ship date arrives and go to boot camp then AIT (your MOS training), at least that's what they call it in the Army anyway. After you complete boot camp you're a Marine and after AIT you're MOS-qualified, which means qualified to do your "job" in the Marine Corps.

Good luck and if you have any questions at all feel free to contact me (contact info is in profile), I recently went through this process for the Army and enlisting is basically the same throughout the military so hope I helped you.

HOORAH MARINE CORPS!
Well go and see your local recruiter as i am sure everyone on here said. You will go through testing and a medical screening to make sure you are healthy enough to go through and serve. It will be a long process but hey it is worth it to be in the best service in the world! Don't worry about no ROTC the only thing that means is that you will go in as a PVT instead of a PFC and you may want to brush up on your military knowledge.
I am a Female Marine that enlisted last year. It was the best decision of my life and don't you think for one min that you aren't going to Iraq because you will.( not trying to scare you) I am leaving in a few months so good luck starting your journey with the Corps! I am excited so don't worry! Again Good Luck and Semper Fi

You start by going into the local Marine Corps recruiting office, or better yet, call first and ask what you need to bring along to start the recruiting process. The recruiters will take it from there.
