As a hairstylist we hear these types of comments all the time.
A lot of factors make hair change. Hormones, medication or just plain simple aging.
Having a baby will pretty much guaranty a change in your hair. Whether it be texture or color. I have seen women go from straight to curly, light blonde to dark blonde or thick hair to thinner.
Pregnancy causes a woman's body to go wacky. It's all about what's best for the baby.
Also there is a theory that hair can change color or texture every ten years or so.
As far as your problem. If you want your hair straight again I would recommend you buy a flat-iron. With a flat-iron you can straighten it when you want and leave it curly when you want. I advise against a chemical straightener, they are very time consuming to get done (3 - 6 hrs) and very expensive and with kids....hhhmm.
If you do chose to get a flat-iron I recommend a CHI or HAI. Don't pay anymore that $140-$150. Also with the flat-iron use a thermal protectant. I recommend L'oreal Professional Serum $20-$26.
Good luck

It's definitely hormonal. Pregnancies and regular hormal changes throughout life cause hair textures and often colors to change. There seems to be a seven year rotation for most people - I used to think that was crap, until I thought back to when my changes happened. It's generally every seven years from when you first had the changes through puberty.
So hang on for another couple years, maybe you'll love what you get.

it has to do with your pregnancies and was caused by hormones. it happens to most people not only through pregnancy but due to any hormonal change that may happen to a woman. IT may even get back to normal again sometime. Tr to get used to it. I know that sometimes when cutting your hair really short then they may change as well. It happened to my mom when she was young and had curly hair and then she had to cut it short and it was straight ever since, until she was carrying my kid sister and now it's wavy!!!

When I hit puberty the texture and curl in my hair really changed. I think maybe it had to do with hormones because it seems to have gone back to normal now that I'm in my 20s. It would make sense that your hair changed after you had kids, maybe it will go back.

Actually children can cause your hair to change. My mom had curly hair, and it went straight after a very bad pregnancy. She lost a lot of vitamins and that hurt her hair very badly. I suggest taking multi-vitamins.
Another thing that might be helpful is what happened to my hair. My hair used to be straight, and has finally gotten back to it. However, for about 8 years, it was waivy and awful. I had tried perming my hair, and instead it damaged my hair. Have you done anything to it lately that might have caused it?

Extremely high voltage will do it, but this is normally accompanied with a non-dinner-related burning smell.
