I would recommend you use tulle or sheer fabric accented with white lights. You can also drape columns with tulle and white lights around the room as well. A pretty example of this is found on this website: http://www.magicalaffairs.com/partystore/

I wouldn't go for putting fabric on the walls. It's an awful lot of work and quite honestly, as long as there are other focal points in the room, I don't think people are going to really notice the walls. If you want to decorate the walls and lighten them, I think you can just use lots of mini lights, mixed in with some draped tulle and some garlands of ivy. That should be enough of a distraction from the walls because you'll have other nice decor throughout the room. Use lots of candles on the tables as they are a great focal point and will definitely brighten the room.

If you buy fabric to staple to the walls it would be too expensive. What you could do is go to a place where they blow up photos to a very very large size and decorate the walls with these large photos of you and your fiance all through your dating years together, also with friends and family and at parties. Plus on top of photos, place a very large white satin bow with some flowers and nail to the paneling. That is about all I can think of..unless the place decides to paint it off white...slim chance of that. Good Luck

at the beginning: wow...a marriage occasion of twenty-two human beings. :-) yet on with the portion of the question! when you consider which you have this type of vast wedding ceremony occasion, i will anticipate you may have many human beings in attendance. if that's the case, issues are going to be complicated adequate, and the visual charm of the reception corridor will seem ornate and sophisticated merely via sheer voulme of individuals. So desire to maintain your tables hassle-free. a large theory that I even have viewed is having floating candles in a shallow, extensive-mouthed bowl. The candle easy dances off the glass and it rather is appealing. you may positioned your daisies around the backside and it will seem beautiful. Then upload a pair tealights and a pair daisies around each and each image physique. yet another theory is merely having a sq., shallow vase crammed to the hilt along with your daisies. it is going to look like an extremely concentrated bouquet. that's hassle-free, and actually low priced. and of direction, upload some candles. continually have candles, because of the fact they upload romance and attractiveness devoid of attempting ;-) while you're feeling adventurous with cakes, it could additionally be exciting to have a guy or woman cake (needless to say very small) for each table. that could be in leiu of serving all people off of the main wedding ceremony cake. So the dessert may well be the middle-piece. wish this facilitates somewhat! :-D

What about some kind of white bulb Christmas lighting wrapped around some tulle swatches and spread out around the whole hall (depending on the size of course you could make several smaller ones or a few larger ones…) would also be indirect lighting which is quite flattering :-)
Another possibility would be poster sized photos of you and your honey, maybe some blown-up youth pics in black and white spread out around the hall with some deco tulle (I am a big tulle fan :-)
Good luck to you and God bless!!

Cover them with sheer fabric, and tack up tons of little white Christmas light strands. Hang them from the ceiling too if you can. It's like dancing under the stars. Borrow lights from everyone you know. I did that for my first wedding (cabin-like walls), and again for a friend's wedding in a large barn-type hall. The effect was amazing!

Use lights. The tiny, clear Christmas lights. Use wedding tulle to drape around the walls and line them with lights inside.

If it's not a giant room, you could try covering them with sheer fabric. You could tack up the fabric at ceiling height with a staple gun, which wouldn't hurt the walls, and let it flow to the floor.
