I can see that people CAN see this but, they just prefer to ignore it. This must be part of the scales that fall from people's eyes when they are converted. The snake that is wrapped around their vision falls to the ground dead on the cross with Jesus.

Pro-choice is as good as saying pro-death

Those on the far left don't like that term. They would rather disguise it as pro choice. The funny thing is, that while being in favor of murdering an innocent baby many of these people are against the death penalty for a person that has murdered an innocent person. They are hypocrites to say the least. They try to use the excuse that the fetus isn't a human child yet, because it hasn't been born yet, but most have never seen the murdered fetus and the barbaric act of the abortion and most couldn't handle looking at the aftermath. It is a hideous practice. They are pro murder is what it boils down to.

People confuse spiritual and political definitions of choice.

You can be politically "pro choice" (or opposed to using legislative measures to address abortion) but still be "pro-life" by supporting the total eradication of abortion through more effective means such as public education and outreach that respects free choice.

Part of the problem is stereotypes perpetuated in the media and in political campaigns pitting pro-choice and pro-life supporters against each other. Pro-choice is unfairly depicted as pro-abortion, while Pro-life is unfairly called anti-choice; so the namecalling would have to stop on both sides to end the mutual misperceptions fueling the conflict.

I agree with you, Midge. But, people don't see that. They see it as the right to choose what happens to their bosy- pro- choice. Also, failing top remember that there is a life inside that body who is not able to MAKE a choice
Pro lifers are trying to speak on behalf of the unborn

The question of pro-life vs "Pro choice" is essentially unwin-able in politics.

Its impractical to legislate morality. Immoral people will just disobey the law anyway.

If a woman decides she wants an abortion, she will get one, whether it is legal or not. Before Roe V Wade, women got "back alley abortions" lacking the trained medical personnel and proper equipment to support their lives in case of problems.... and problems were common.

So.. since making abortion illegal again simply won't do any good. Its pointless to argue the issue.

This is called recognizing reality.

Note... I am pro-life.

I'm just realistic enough to know when something is impossible to win.

Thats true, that is exactly why the anti abortionists chose to call themselves pro life. But it is only name not a belief system. Please think critically about this issue and don't assume what someone believes because of what they happen to call themselves. In 1932 no one would have thought very much of a person calling themselves a Nazi. Today many hate groups and white supremacist groups have names like, American Freedom lovers, and other benign sounding names.

What i mean to say is the opposite of the words pro life are pro death but the words don't correlate with the actual opinions of abortion groups in one way or another. also before I read your updated comments I thought you were just misguided but now i see you are completely insane.

That's a rather black and white way of looking at this issue. What if you have a woman who was raped and for emotional reasons does not want to carry the baby to term? Is that pro-death per se? I have a very complicated relationship to this as I think most people do. I don't feel the death penalty should be legal but you don't get a lot of arguing about pro death and pro life over this do you? It doesn't make much sense to me.

Pro life means no choice for the woman. Pro choice gives her the option and she may well choose life. Pro death also leave no choices, it demands 100% abortion rate.

In that sense, yes, I suppose the opposite of pro life is pro death. Good thing nobody is supporting that pro death thing, eh?

I agree with you. These people are just murderers. One contributer said that you must agree with pro welfare as well. Well, i do, pimp the system ...PIMP IT! If they have money for wars they've got money for it's citizens ...why can't people see that?

Anyway, irresponsible men and (sorry ladies) slutty women are the ones so bent on "it's my choice" you had the choice to either open or close your legs, though.
It's all irresponsibility. give the child up for adoption if you don't want the little PERSON, there are millions of families that can't conceive and would love to have the little bundle.

Things are never black and white and the vast majority of people are content to exist and let the more dynamic people lead. Ideas seep very slowly into the collective unconscious because people prefer the status quo and fear change. Even when that change is for the better.

The opposite of pro-life is not foisting my views of morality on someone else. We don't live in an information vaccuum so nobody in this country can claim they don't know what options are available to a mother with an unwanted pregnancy, so you tell ME how spitting on them, medical personnel and bombing clinics is any more Christian-like or altruistic?

I don't like abortion any more than I like arrogance, hatred, cruelty and ignorance, etc. but I it's unethical to force other people to think like I do...
