THANK YOU SO MUCH! I don't know why that is, but I think that they WERE criticizing the movie for the content of Jesus.

Is "300" a religious movie?
That's the difference.

I didn't get that either. I mean, seriously, if you are going to make a movie about someone being crucified, it would be false if it WASN'T violent. That was a terrible death, and if you want to portray it accurately, it has to be violent.

Whatever. Pick your battles. Do you actually think this is important? Anyway, our society is 85% (nominally) "Christian," so you really have no right to complain about being "marginalized." Cry me a river.
But I think people ARE getting sick of having Jesus shoved down their throats, largely thanks to the fundies and their agenda. "When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." THERE'S some good advice.

because it is offensive to some people that a sinnless/blameless man died for our sins so that those who believe will live enternally. As if that was not offensive enough, the only requirement of us is to believe which makes it harder for even more people. Jesus died for us all.

actually i wasnt very fond of the movie 300 and its gore. it wasnt THAT bad, but it wasnt nearly as good as Troy. it was kinda like Kill Bill in parts.
and like 90% of the movie was in slow motion, 10% of it was porno.
*shrug*
fight scene was cool but very far-fetched.
and i actually grew up watching horror movies like friday 13th and childsplay and what not.

really it makes a mockery of God. Jesus is said to be the son of God, God in flesh whatever, and to have him beaten and spit at even if the actor was just protraying Jesus isn't what Christians want to see.

it's because they're stupid and didn't realize that being crucified is an incredibly horrible way to die. When it was shoved in their faces they freaked out.
