As a hairstylist I'm telling for the most part ....NO!
Shampoos are for cleansing the hair. If you want volume buy a really good shampoo to keep your hair healthy and use volumizing products.
Volumizing products include everything from mousse to texture sprays. Start with a good mousse, you may have to combine products depending on how soft or fine you hair is.

Honestly, I have never found a volumizing shampoo that really did all it claimed to do. I'm gonna keep my eye on this question & see what others have to say. I will tell you that Nick Chavez hairspray is better than ANYTHING I've ever used. Hes the guy on QVC with the long black hair. You can get his products on Ebay really cheap. Good luck!!

I recommend Aveda's Pure Abundance shampoo and conditioner. It really does give the look and feel of thicker hair! (I've never needed to use it, but we've had clients swear by it). Also, look for volumizing products. We all really like Aquage's Volumizing Treatment. It's like a mousse, but with less hold and really pumps your hair up.

I think they do. One I used to use is Pantene Volumizing. I don't use it anymore cuz I color, but when I did it used to really fluff my hair up. There are tons of volumizing shampoos out there that I'm sure are just as good-you just have to experiment to find one that works for you.

Yeah, herbal essences for body works, especially well with the conditioner. What works even better for volume is the herbal essences shampoo and conditioner in the purple body for curly hair. It's amazing. My hair was flat and straight til I tried these.
