keep 2 dust bins in kitchen. Put all the waste vegetables and eatables in one of it for recycling. Dont put any plastics or glass in it. Dig a 4x4x4 feet pit in your garden and throw the wastes collected in kitchen every day in it. Get some earthworms and put in the pit. Ensure the contents of pit dont go dry. Within few weeks you will get a wonderful manure which can be used for growing plants.

if everybody made a small compost heap to accomodate the domestic organic waste ,we could recycle a lot of the rest more cheaply

this does not smell only requires about 2 square meters and at the end of the day there is some good compost for the flower pots

Organic waste mixed in with other rubbish is responsible for 70% of contamination.

Some cities are beginning to collect organic recycleables (food waste). If yours doesn't you can still have your own compost bin.
