Why do so many of them want an easy fix to their weight loss issues? Asking if a certain pill will make them lose weight without them moving one muscle. Do they not realise that their inactivity is a major contributor to being overweight? So what if the pill does work, the weight won't stay off if they don't exercise.

I agree with you 110% ( actually an expression I detest!)
We are what we eat, but we are at least as much what we don't do. Calorie intakes in 1900 and 1950 were higher than they are now, we just don't use them up!

A healthy amount of exercise is 30-40 minutes of vigorous exercise per day 4-5 days a week. I hate to think what percentage of the UK population does that 2%? 5%?

I have also seen hundreds of questions with that same pattern :- I am fat, tell me where on line I can get this super herbal/dangerous/illegal drug that I hear will fix it for me in 10 minutes! I answered a few of these and then I got bored with them!

I am 27 years old and I've been over weight since I was about 11. My mother never allowed junk food or sweets in the house and she cooked very healthy meals. I was involved in basketball, track, volleyball and dance on skates........but still I was overweight. I do not sit around on my butt all day everyday doing nothing. I am a house wife who cooks, cleans and runs after 3 rowdy dogs all day and yes I eat, as most people do. now granted, I am not the healthiest eater and sometimes I eat Things that I shouldnt but that does not make me a fat lazy person, it makes me human. All of us have things that we do , that we should not do. some people smoke, some drink too much , others work too many hours and yes some over eat but we do these things because we are not perfect! I accept you for who you are and I am asking on behalf of all the other overweight people, that you accept us for who we are.
As for myself...........I am a beautiful, kind hearted, strong, compassionette and a hard working woman who keeps her home in order. I am also a little over stuffed, but I have worked hard to get where I am at in my life and I am happy and proud of who I am and who I am working on becoming. God Bless You!!

But all they want is an easy way out. A big diet plan can seem daunting to someone just starting out, and they may be so desperate to lose the weight that is making them feel so bad about themselves that they believe in the quick fix - it's something to give them hope. Don't be so harsh on people with weight problems, when you feel the way some of them do, exercise is the last thing on their minds.

Actually I feel the reason (females) overeat and are inactive, is because they are unhappy. I know I stuff my face when I feel bad and when I am in love I don't care if I eat or not. Those that reach for an easy fix are just being human, it seems we all want instant gratification. Just be happy you are not one of them, but I am sure you have your issues. Do you smoke, drink or sleep around a lot? Or are you perfect?

I totally agree with you! I probably would of said it nicer but, the point is right. People especially in America are so use to having everything done either for them or made it so easy where one doesn't have to use any strenght! Go to Honduras, Guatemala, Iran, China, Thailand, all 3rd world countries and see how many "fat" people you see! It's not only the lack of food...but the simple fact that they have to work incredibly hard to get their day's worth of food! If you're "fat" and want to lose all that weight....work at it...Anything easy in life isn't worth having!

you don't know that after they lose the weight with the pill or whatever that they won't exercise more. it would probably give them more incouragement and self-confidence that they will want to keep the weight off. you don't have to be such a jerk about it. i'm kinda chunky and i exercise but i'm still the same. some people are just naturally chunky and others eat too much. its not a big deal. we do try and we do not just sit on our butts.

I agree but for some people it might be because of a health problem. But I also think that they should try exercising to keep fit rather than relying on pills and operations.

Pills promise dreams, but never deliver.

Hard work always pays off, although not always immediately.

Don't make fun of them. Try to inspire them. Plant a fire in their souls so that they might achieve their dreams one day!

p.s. simple sugar, excessive salt, and high fructose corn syrup kill! they are like armed gunmen who keep you hostage for years and then kill you.
