i'm allergic to my dads cat but not my friends cat

My allergy specialist said no, but I know for a fact that my cats never bothered me andmy mother's did. Personally, I think it is possible to become immune to the ones you are around all the time. He (the Dr.) refused to agree with that though.

Yes you can. Some people have Long haired cats and others have short haired cats. It just matters how match dander(I think that is what it is) Is on the cats skin. The dander is what makes you allergic in most cases. I know this sounds really stupid but my brother-in-law was highly allergic to cats and they bathed the cat in a little bit of Downy and he no longer had any problems. But my friend also did that, and come to find out she was allergic to the Downy, so sometimes you can't win.

Although individual cats may produce more or less allergen, there is no relationship between the pet’s hair length and allergen production, and no such thing as a non-allergic breed. Male cats are more allergic than female cats, because testerone increases production by the sebaceous glands.

I think it is possible because im allergic to cats but thier are some cats that i am fine when i am around them

yes you can, what your probably allergic to is the cat's dander (dead skin and fur that comes off of the cat) it's probably something your not used to that is making you have an allergic reaction

Yes that possiable my neice is allergic to dogs but they got this dog that has a different type of hair..and she better so maybe.

Some people dont know if they are allergic utill they actually incanter something that they are allergic too.
