The Dems are talking out of both sides of their mouths and showing their true colors. Our military must be so humiliated.

Because all of those people only claim to support the troops. In reality they are only supporting their political opinions.

It all lies in the definition of what is to be considered as supporting the troops. Those against the war believe they support the troops because they do not want them to die. The problem with this idea is that they do not believe that the troops can complete the mission. In order to support the troops properly you must believe that they can complete their mission without question, whether you agree with the mission or not. Otherwise, what you support is no one dying. Not that it matters though, I do believe that many who don't support the war do honestly care about what happens to the troops.

Supporting our troops means respecting the job they are doing, and respecting the fact that they are volunteers putting their lives at risk, and acknowledging that they are doing their jobs to the best of their ability.

Congress has the job to allocate military funds and make rules regarding the military. That's right in the Constitution, Article I Section 8. It's also their job under federal law to determine what theaters of engagement troops can be sent to, and for how long. See the War Powers Act of 1973.

Those are two different things. Blaming the troops for their deployment orders is like shooting a messenger for bringing you bad news. Supporting the troops, even if you oppose the deployment, is the same as thanking the messenger, even if you hate the message. One has nothing to do with the other.

Supporting the military does not mean supporting the use of them as defined by the moron that currently passes for our president. He has caused this humiliation and put them in an untenable position. Continuing this will not serve us or save them. I hate to lose as much as the next guy but unless we're willing to get really ugly, we'll have to win from behind the scenes, covertly. Elect a woman for president. They excel at such tactics. Hi, mom.

As an Army wife, I support the troops. But I'm also starting to lean a little more to the left, because I'm pretty damn tired of my husband being gone all the time. He leaves later this year for his third year in Iraq since 2003. My husband and I both agree a time table is a wonderful thing. Otherwise we're looking at him being deployed every other year forever.

Screw "the course;" I want my husband to get to know his kids...

I support our troops because they were forced to go there by our worthless president. The was is wrong. The country goes poor funding this war. They have been killing themselves for over 2000 years on there on. If anything we should have just killed them all and ended there 2000+ year struggle to do what they have been trying for centuries. And if the military feels humiliated. They shouldnt GW Bush got us into this mess to better himself. They deserved what they got for 9-11 but this is rediculous. It should have been over by now

Why would they be humiliated, They have served our country and should be proud...It is the republicans that want them to stay in harms way. I am sure most of them would like to return to a seminormal life and be able to see their families more than once a year....if that....Support our military by bringing them home......Im also sure soldiers would rather be hunting bin laden and not in th babylonian pit of hell. Once bin laden is captured and sees true american democratic justice our whole country would be alot more proud....Including you narrowminded republicans....I know that is one thing everyone in america can agree on...

Let's face it, the US lost this war back in 1991 when we actually had a legitimate reason to take out Saddam but didn't. Pack it up before we lose anymore guys.

Because we support the troops who are risking their lives and limbs (and more) to fight a war that is in many people's opinions are wrong. It was never about terror, that was the excuse. We support the troops, not the war.

To save their lives? To stop them getting mutilated then returning to sub standard health care in the US? To stop them being used as heavies for a load of selfish rich people who would not dream of risking their lives for anyone?

Are you getting the point here?
