So there is the constant battle of teaching religion in school. If we were to allow it, where should it go?

Mathematics? I don't think so. There are several math errors in the bible.

Language? I don't think the bible has much to do with learning English.

Science? No. There is nothing scientific about religion.

Physical education? Nope, don't think so.

Health/sex ed? Leviticus 15:16-33, Probably not a good idea.

Music? I could see the relevance of teaching music of various religions. (Not just Christianity)

Social Studies/History? I could see the relevance of teaching history of various mythologies. (Not just Christianity) I think if people had a better understanding of the history of various religions, it would create better harmony among various faiths.

Art? I could see the relevance of teaching art of various religions (Not just Christianity)

Religion should be taught in church only, not in school...

When there is no true religion from a State perspective...allegedly...no religion should be taught as correct in the schools. If the government were to allow students to be taught religion in public schools, they would have to allow for an infinite number of religions claiming it as their right to have access.

Religions, as a whole, could be studied, but that would put a much different perspective on beliefs of those studying.

Religion should be taught in colleges as the people in college are older and mature enough to understand them. Or just make a class especially for that in the schools and teach all of the religions not just one or two. But it would be better to keep certain subjects for college.

Some of it is taught in my son's History class... but mainly to show the group itself. Such as they read about the Crusades and why it happened and what each side claimed was the real reason for it. Of course, this lead to the Muslims and Catholics (mainly), so their religions were touched on, but not taught to them in order to get them to believe in either religion. But I think if Religion is going to be taught, it should be an Elective class (like what they are doing in Georgia now). That way if it's something that interests the child, they can take it. If the child is like my son, they won't take it.

The question is so huge, that's going to become impossible to respond to, as somebody who would not have faith in God, final time i take advantage of a capital by making use of the way, i hit upon all people who have faith faith ought to learn as certainty very complicated. that's acceptable rather to creationists, and that i keep in mind having an rather strange coversation some years in the past with a strongly religious guy in this venture. He brushed off all twentieth century technology as evil, yet might ask human beings to coach the heating up if he have been chilly, he might brush aside the existence of the dinosaurs, stating they were placed there by making use of the devil to reason guy to sin, and grew to become into confident that the Earth grew to become into 4,000 years previous. He additionally believed that he grew to become right into an instantaneous descendant of Adam & Eve, even the main religious individual might desire to settle for that that's impossible by making use of making use of straight forward good judgment. Creationism, like the Earth being flat is a very disproved concept, it has no place in faculties, or everywhere for that count, that's as genuine as Santa Claus courting the tooth Fairy. If any faith is taught in any respect in faculties, and that i think faith shouldn't in any respect learn, that's going to be purely in historic context on the inspiration of that which may be shown. something is errant nonsense, and that i somewhat does no longer desire any baby in my kinfolk taught such issues.

Religious doctrines should be taught only in religious schools. Public schools should teach only world religions, not doctrines, and it must be made clear that public school teachers have no right to attempt to influence students towards any specific religion.

"Language? I don't think the bible has much to do with learning English. "

I'm not an English-speaking Protestant, but the King James Version of the Bible is a major foundational work of the English language. Someone who has never read any of it, has missed a very important work of English.
