Religions are like presents. They all have different wrappings, pretty bows and stuff. It's what's inside that matters, because inside, they are all the same.
It's like cars. Some like Buick's, some like Honda's. When in reality, all they are is simply a mode of transportation. Religionshelp us get through life, but our spirituality is the one pressing the gas pedal, and changing the gears.

The Christianity you see today is not of the teachings that were in Jesus day and it has accepted many false teachings of the others and they all fit hand in hand with each other.
This is why there are so many denominations and so many splits in same denominations. Even Eastern religions have many of the same teachings and ideas. (which are not based in Scripture)
See Ephesians 4:1-5
A person's hopes can only be in understanding God's word and exercising this knowledge in their lives.
See John 17:3

all major religions are based off of christianity in some way. because at one time or another someone did not like the way the church was run or the rules and they made a religion based off of christianity and changed something in some way.

Many Religions, ONE Faith

There are many religions (as an example - Gal.1:13 below, the Jews’ religion), but one faith (Eph.4:5 below).

Eph.4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

When we are baptized into Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirit we BECOME a “new creature” (2 Cor.5:17, Gal.6:15 below). We become, individually, as well as collectively, the living body of Christ (Col.1:24 below). We become the church of God (1 Cor.10:32 below, 1 Cor.1:2, 1 Cor.15:9, Gal.1:13), the one faith (Eph.4:5 above).

2 Cor.5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he IS a new creature (Gal.6:15 below): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Gal.6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature (2 Cor.5:17 above).

Col.1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His body's sake, which IS the church (1 Cor.10:32, Gal. I:13, 1 Cor.1:2).

1 Cor.10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God (Eph.2:16 below).

Eph.2:16 And that he might reconcile BOTH (Jews and Gentiles - 1 Cor.10:32 above) unto God in one body (the church of God - 1 Cor.10:32 above) by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Gal.1:13 For ye have heard of my (Paul's) conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God (1 Cor.10:32 above), and wasted it.

Good question! Christianity is not "the one" true religion. It's certainly not the oldest religion, in fact much of Christian holidays bear the borrowed emblems of pagan religions. I think it all boils down to individual beliefs, one person is just as passionate as the next person about his/her own spirituality and religious beliefs. I just think it's wrong for one religion to claim to be the beat-all-end-all and if we don't comply we will burn in Hell..blahblah.

Jesus never preached a religion and he said the only true religion is to love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as you love yourself.

You cannot call any religion the true religion because in theology, all religions that are monotheists are called revealed religions, therefore al religions that were revealed by God to humans are true.

Truth stands for itself.

Truth is not defined by ones devotion, or lack thereof.

an obvious answer. religions are created by humans based on human perceptions of how to reach God.

Christianity is God's designed method to allow man to fellowship with him.
