I know about branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) and Advil, but after a moderate ab workout (the first in years) two days ago, I'm in considerable pain, so much so that I won't be able to stretch until tomorrow or later. Any advice (stop whining)?

Sometimes a hot bath really helps with the aches and pains of a workout. And after the hot both you might be able to a few small stretches. It should ease the pain to a degree.
I hope this helps

I go in the sauna or hot tub at the gym right after I work out and the pain is minimal. If I dont I am very sore the next day. So I would say heat.

I take a hot bath for an hour or so then I rub down the sore areas with Thera-Gesic (pain creme). You can buy it at walmart or walgreens, Usually within a few hours i feel great.

1 set of 100 with an isolation exercise using light weights for whatever bodypart your training that day
this sounds couterproductive but it will actually up the blood flow the the bodypart in question...thereby leading to less tightness/soreness

Ugh...stretching and hot showers or baths are the best way to relieve soreness....not much else works.
