does anyone know any organizations that will help someone move?

I am guessing you mean for free or little cost? Try your local churches first. Your job may have a relocation allotment available, check with the Human Resources department.
Call around local charities and ask if they know of any services.

Then of course there is always the good old US Army. If you're a service member you get moved for free!
