Very good question. They did nothing and the Ice Age still occurred. No amount of tree-hugging would have helped.

Cave men did nothing to end the ice age. It occurred naturally. Since the formation of the earth, it has undergone various phases. Ice Age was one of these phases. It has nothing to do with cave men whatsoever.

While we definately contribute to global warming all things come in cycles. The ice age ended as part of that cycle.

The ice age ends naturally. Cavemen had little effect on their environment compared to what we do today. Major changes in humankind's effect on the environment began when we started to use wood as an energy source, and then when we started to use coal.

"Cave men"? Who do you mean?

Most early humans did not live in caves. And there were not enough people around, 15,000 - 10,000 years ago, to have any effect on the glaciers.
