If things just fall because of some impersonal, purposeless, hypothetical "force" (gravity), rather than because of an intelligent creator's will (God), then doesn't that render life meaningless? Don't naturalistic, Godless theories like gravity undermine our very humanity?

Yes, the theory of gravity undermines morality too! Why should anyone do good if it's just the godless gravity of evolutionist pseudoscience, not the love of God, weighing down on us?

The theory of gravity states that the planets and stars and Earth and so on just formed by random natural processes, gathered together from senseless matter by Godless gravity, rather than being "popped" into existence by God, as Genesis explicitly describes.

It's exactly like how the theory of gravity claims that life formed without God; because those theories don't appeal to God, they are an affront on Christian morality and part of the ongoing war on our values and religion. If we keep just rolling over for this atheist science, they'll keep making "theories" to explain away the universe without God, and one day we'll have no gaps left to stick God into!!! We need to make a stand NOW.

Sorry, exactly like how the theory of evolution claims that life formed without god. I sometimes get evolution and gravity mixed up, they're basically the same thing: life and the universe arising completely at random.

Don't even try quoting that atheist liar Stephen Hawking at me!

"What I have done is to show that it is possible for the way the universe began to be determined by the laws of science. In that case, it would not be necessary to appeal to God to decide how the universe began. This doesn't prove that there is no God, only that God is not necessary."

One step at a time, eh, gravitationists?

Not to mention the absence of morality that implies...how can we be moral with gravity making everything fall? It's kind of pointless.

"Gravity: Doesn't exist. If items of mass had any impact of others, then mountains should have people orbiting them. Or the space shuttle in space should have the astronauts orbiting it. Of course, that's just the tip of the gravity myth. Think about it. Scientists want us to believe that the sun has a gravitation pull strong enough to keep a planet like neptune or pluto in orbit, but then it's not strong enough to keep the moon in orbit? Why is that? What I believe is going on here is this: These objects in space have yet to receive mans touch, and thus have no sin to weigh them down. This isn't the case for earth, where we see the impact of transfered sin to material objects. The more sin, the heavier something is. "

Gravity Sucks. Choose Divine Non Pushing, If it were not by the divine grace of God putting less pressure on us there would be no Levity. And to those who claim Levity is Immorality I say Fooey! Do You really belive God works by plucking the tip of every Grass stem up, by keeping His eye on every fly.
Yes I have heard you people spouting your dogma about no Sparrow Falling without his notice blah blah blah! It is not so.
God does not need to fight Gravity He Controls it through the act of Levity. Cease your Heresies!

You Theoretical Heretical Science Zombies are the worst. New Ton recanted on his deathbead and admitted Gravity was just Something he made up in a fit of mercury poisoning Madness. Yes he was Mad. Madder than a Cut Snake.

Riegan, in answer to your question, most scientists don't believe it now. Actually, theoretical physics shows that the classic theory of gravitation is not right. There are discrepancies in the planetary orbits not explained by it. To find the complete, current theory you have to look at the general theory of relativity which does explain the orbits. However, the theory of gravitation does work in most cases and is easier to work with than relativity so is used most of the time. Gravity is not a force but is caused by the warping of the 4 dimensional time-space continuum we exist in.

actually, the Christian scientific (not the religion Christian Science) theory is that God fine-tuned everything, so atoms and the forces that come with them were perfectly adjusted to affect one another in a balance. So the atomic force of gravity is one of the reasons things have held together so long, simply because God is that smart.

He knew what'd happen if He made the electromagnetic force stronger than the gravitational force, so He made the best decision possible. He made this world, maybe even this universe so fined tuned, so we could survive! You can't tell me that doesn't sound like a personal God.....

y?....u don't worry that the advancement of scientific theories will lead to your disbelief in god do you?...i dearly hope not, and i also hope u don't mix religion with faith. Faith is something independent of every aspect of life but religion is intertwined into every dynamic aspects of our lives. Have faith, because religion is like following a leader (i don't mind u doing that)..but I hope u'd rather be your own leader than to follow or lead someone.

As far as gravity is concerned, I quiet don't think its purposeless, and certainly not "hypothetical" (since u see its results everyday) . Oxygen and other gases stay within the atmosphere due to gravity, otherwise they would escape...and you wouldn't be able to breath, nor would any other prophet in the past who started out a religion would be (so much for that)

i guess i've had my head up my butt, cause this is the second time i have seen this type of question on this site and before hand had never known that people actually don't believe in gravity. is this just a southern states thing or something? is it a joke? in this day in age, you cannot possibly believe that an apple falls due to god's will, come on! are people truly that ignorant about reality? explain this to me

No, your just too caught up in the whole god thing to see the true beauty and wonder of nature. It asn't designed or created it happened, get over yourself and stop trying to make it seem that there is no point to life without a god. I can think of quite a few.

For many people, shopping is the true meaning of life. And due to gravity, they can shop till they drop. Without gravity this would never work! Behold and wonder ...

Surely you jest.

I think the wonder that is science makes it all the more meaningful... knowing that the earth is filled with concepts that we cannot explain completely means we are at the mercy of nature. No God required.
