Well, from my understanding, I was always told that keeping your hair in braids will thicken it.

I use to sleep with my hair in braids after taking my nightly shower to make it look crimpy the next day, but since it was so wet when I did them, I didn't add too much thickness. I believe (but I could absolutely be wrong) that if you braid your hair tightly as it's dry, it will thicken faster...

But! I am no professional, and I could undoubtedly by wrong... but I know I've heard that braids will help add thickness.

There is also "volumnizing" shampoos, conditioners and mouses that I've heard work. But I'm not sure if that has anything to do with adding thickness to your hair... if nothing else, it could cause the illusion of it :-/

Thining of your hair could be caused by lots of things. Loss of hair, heat, your hairdresser "thining it" for you. My hair is very thick so I ask her to thin it by creating layers in my hair, cutting out the bulk of "thickness".

But again... I'm really no expert on hair... I just obsess over mine a bit too much! lol

People shed approx. 100 -150 hairs a day. If you are losing a whole lot more than that you may possibly have a problem.

Hair loss can be caused by a lot of different things from stress to medical conditions.

If you are in fact losing your hair, I would see a doctor to see if there is anything medical that could be causing it.

If are under an extreme amount of stress reduce it anyway you can. (major factor in hair loss)

If you are not under stress and your doctor gives you a clean bill of health, hair loss may just run in your family.

If it is hereditary there really isn't much that can be done. I would recommend that your try Rogaine. Rogaine contains a product called minoxinal (sp). This is the only product on the market that has been proven by the FDA to regrow hair.

Please do not buy the stuff in the salons. As a hairstylist, ex-salon owner and a balding male I'm telling you none of them work. Rogaine!

You can get short/long layers, depending on the length of your hair. Even though it doesn't "make" your hair thicker, it looks thicker. Or you can use Pantene Pro-V Full & Thick which is s'posed to strengthen and thicken your hair. Ofcourse, you can attach extensions and wait till your hair grows out. It depends on why your hair is thinning out in the first place. Is it because you use too many styling products (straighteners, curlers)? Your age would also help, too. Good luck. =)

Check out the different choices of shampoo's at your favorite store. They have many to chose from. Read the labels. It will tell you if it will make your hair appear thicker. Just remember that you can't make it thicker you can only make it appear thicker. Try back brushing it for height and more volume.

do not overcondition your hair once you're doing that because conditioner can weigh your hair down. So situation in undemanding words once you want to. And bypass to a hair stylist and get some assistance on a sturdy tip to carry out volume.. layers?

Hi

You can use shampoos that claim to help but they dont cause miricles.

The best way to add thickness is to get extensions - either fixed or clip in ones will do it.
