the akc site was no help to me trying to find a shih tzu breed i found my 2 shih tzus in the paper or try this site it list breeders all over the country

I agree with Aussie on this one.. let me also add this .. Make sure you see AKC papers from the male and female, Ask to see both parents if the male isn't there then ask where you can see him. Never buy a puppy with out the litter papers. Some breeders will give you a story why they don't have them.. If they don't have the papers then find someone else. There is no excuse why breeders can't have littler papers when you purchase a puppy, If you want to know anything I will be willing to help you. At alot of people will call me after the fact by then it is to late.

Watch how the puppies act towards their owner..Ask questions if she isn't willing to answer them then move on. Many Shih Tuz's breeder will try to tell you how their dog are imperial , or the marking makes them different, to get more money out of you.. Beware of that. You can't go wrong with a Shih Tzu they are the most lovable dog there is.

I would contact the people in the link below. They will point you to a good breeder that will get you a great dog.

It's worth the effort to find a good breeder.

visit the AKC web sight they have a breeder referal list. Never get on line or from per store
