I really have feelings for this guy - but am I fighting a losing battle? Any positive experiences with guys who haven't taken the plunge?

Never know! I've never been married (I'm female) but late 30's. Sometimes it's just we havent met the right person for us. I've been in plenty of long term relationships, there were just issues where I knew it wouldn't work. When I do it I want forever, so some of us are selective. Talk to him and see what his experiences are if you don't know. The only way to find out is to talk to him. Good luck!

seriously? age doesn't matter in love & relationships.
i've known very young men who have gotten married to early and are doing great. likewise, i have known some who have married "late" but are still doing okay. in the same manner, those who married "at just the right age" is not exactly an assurance that their marriage is always a bliss.

Sadly I've found that if they have never married at that age they tend to be commitment phobic. I prefer a guy that has been divorced or widowed around that age.
