Each sect generally believes the bible is the word of God, meaning that God inspired the authors. Its the individual who choses to believe whether or not it is literal, or moral.

The Word of God means all of the basic principles you need to follow in order to gain Eternal Life are there.
Did Noah have an Ark? I believe he did. Was there a flood that covered the entire earth? I don't know. I do believe that there was a considerable flood and Noah did build an Ark which he loaded full of animals. I believe that if God wanted to flood the whole earth, it would certainly be in his power to do so.
But, when it comes down to it, I don't believe that the question of whether the flood covered the entire earth or just some portion of it is really going to make a difference to your individual salvation. Your salvation is entirely up to you and if you place your faith in Jesus Christ and do the things that he and his prophets have taught.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Matt 7:7)

I am agnostic and I personally do not believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God. The Bible was written by man therefore, in my opinion, it is impossible that the Bible is the literal Word of God. The Bible is composed mostly of accounts of stories from the point of view of the person recording the account and, as we all know, stories are told very differently by different people. The Bible is simply man's interpretation of God's word.

I believe that the bible wasn't meant to be taken literally , but more so it was about teaching us philosophically how to get through life! and the reason I say philosophically is because every one interprets the bible in a different way and every one gets something else out of that book!

Catholics believe it is mostly the Word of God or inspired by God. We do take into account that humans wrote it and things have been lost or added in translations.
The laws Moses wrote down (besides the 10 commandments) are human. He wrote them because the people wanted and needed him too. Many things are descriptions of important items or everyday life.

Yes, the Word of God CAME to the people who wrote the books of the Bible.
I CHOOSE to believe in God and The Bible and EVERY Word in it.
It has CHANGED MY LIFE.
WHO doesn't want to STAY peaceful in their heart--ALL THE TIME???? God does that!!
ALL the Bible does is tell people how to have a happy, joyful, peaceful life--and people choose to disbelieve, which is BEYOND ME!!

There are no Greek scriptures customary because of the fact the Tanakh. TANAKH = unique HEBREW scriptures. The Jewish 'bible'. G-d advised us in no thank you to characteristic even one LETTER to our Torah; the Torah on my own is a holy text fabric for Jews. So no, we heavily isn't including something to it, as we stick to what G-d advised us. The 'previous testomony' isn't the Tanakh. The OT is a Christian checklist; the Church REorganised the Tanakh, MIStranslated it, and produced a diluted version of it, and that's the OT. The OT isn't a Jewish text fabric, and no Jew reads nor analyze it. If I took the 'new testomony', and adjusted it right into a very distant places language, and rearranged it, and adjusted meanings of entire paragraphs, might *you* settle for it as your holy text fabric...? CRIMMY The Talmud isn't holy and that i in no way claimed it grew to become into. The Talmud is the 'oral Torah', which grew to become into given in verbal style at Mt Sinai. study what I pronounced back, heavily: the TORAH, the written text fabric, is HOLY. edit what's Kabbalah have been given to do with it? Kabbalah is composed of a definite way of examining TORAH. The Torah is our HOLY text fabric. Sorry Crimmy, i do no longer particularly understand what you're asking, are you suggesting that each faith ought to have faith in each religious scripture? That does no longer make sense, although :) i will in straight forward terms talk for Judaism. The Torah is our holy text fabric. The Tanakh is the number of all our scriptures. The Talmud is the Oral Torah, it clarifies and elaborates the written Torah. we can't in any respect view something as 'holy', different than Torah. The Torah is on the middle OF Judaism.

God’s word is true from the beginning (Ps.119:160 below).
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (2 Tim.3:16 below).
God is the God of truth (Ps.31:5, Deut.32:4, Ps.25:5, Jn.17:17 below).
The Holy Scriptures are not the private interpretation of men (2 Pe.1:20 below), but they are given by God through the Holy Spirit.
The spirit of Truth will guide you into all truth (Jn.16:13 below)
ALL Scripture is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Pe.1:21, 2 Tim.3:16, 2 Samuel 23:2, Eph.3:5 below).
If a religious author’s writings do not speak according to the Holy Bible, there is no light in them (Isa.8:20 below).
Ps.119.160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
2 Pe.1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2 Pe.1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Tim.3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Samuel 23:2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me (David), and his word [was] in my tongue.
Eph.3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Ps.31:5 Into Thine hand I commit my spirit; Thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
Deut. 32:4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are judgment, a God of truth and without iniquity; just and right is He.
Ps.25:5 Lead me in Thy truth and teach me, for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day.
Jn.17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
2 Tim.3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Jn.16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Isa.8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.
