Don't bombard him leave him to think things over and realise you are sorry...give him time to calm down and be less annoyed at you.

Say that you're sorry and ask to have a sit down talk with him. If he refuses then you might have to face the face that this isn't going to work and move on. Appeal to his mature side by asking for that talk...it's about all you can do and the honest approach to things.
