Mmmmm, Since none of us were around we cannot prove how we really came to be, so everyone is left with their own "theories"
Cheers and have a nice day.

I don't quite remember where I heard this but I have heard that there are a bunch of scientists that have gotten to a point in the research of something and end up saying that they can't go any further and there is no way things just happend. One example I can think of is the study of the planets around this system. Calculations were made and the conclusion was that if anything were even an inch different, earth would most likely not support life. No joke, I heard this, just wish I remembered where. I'm thinking it was on an informative show of some sort.

fighting it? Would you also fight for a flat earth if that it what it said in the bible? (remember the four corners?)
would you also fight the heliocentrism/geocentrism thing as the church once did? (remember how they treated Galileo, one of their own I might add?)
Not even the pope is stupid enough to take on evolution head on. You have to make your peace with it somehow. Say genesis is figurative. And of course it is. It is an origin myth, not literal truth.
The only ones 'fighting' this are some obstinate american creationists with no international support and frankly they are the laughing stock of the scientific and world community.

I think the first answer shows the mentality your dealing with. Science can provide such a weight of solid evidence that it would be perverse for anyone to dispute it and the Christians will still glibly state "it's only a theory".

Some choose to dismiss it and keep their heads buried in the sand.
Keep in mind religion is big business. I went to a wedding at a very opulent Baptist Church in Atlanta and noted the very expensive furnishings, marble etc and it reminded me of casinos. The opulence there comes from the wallets of suckers who think they might get rich and the same is true of the parishioners who think they are buying a ticket to heaven.

The more I learn about science, the more convinced I am that there is a God.
Look at simple Neural transmissions, amazing stuff.
Thats all the proof I need.
Humans have SOOOOOOO much to learn

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen."
My faith has evolved from things hoped for and has manifested the proof of things not seen in my own life many times over.
Nothing, No Nothing, can seperate me from the love of God which I have found in Christ Jesus.
