They've been trying for centuries and just can't do it. That's because Israel is still the 'apple of Gods' eye'. God himself is protecting Israel. The book of Revelation shows, throughout, that Israel will exist forever. There is no individual power or combined powers that can match Gods power (Revelation 14:1 "And I looked, and, lo, a lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.".
The 144,000 are Jewish evangelists prepared exclusively for the 'saving of Israel.
Read Revelation 19 and see how the greatest army ever asssembled will be destroyed by Jesus.

Hopefully ti won't happen that way. Hopefully the US will just stop giving them money, they will colapse economically, and call their stupid colonization off, the bad ones will go to wherever the heck they came from, and the good ones will become Palestinian Jews.

But to answer your question, the last Lebenon War showed how long. Israel with all its firepower never managed to even slow down the rate the rockets were coming in. Those were dinky kassams and ketushas which are based on Russian designs from ww2 and are made by hand. They can't be aimed, they can only be pointed in a direction.

Had that many guided munitions hit Israel, the north of the place would be a smoking ruin right now. The qquestion is, which will happen sooner. Will Israel develope more firepower. That's impossible nearly. Or will those who back Hezbollah give them the equipment to launch at structures rather than in directions. If Hezbollah gets one Seersucker missile for every kassam they have, Israel will be destroyed.

But why does that have to be the option. Jee, they can just stop hurting people, and give everyone who was kicked out of the area or fled in fear the right to return. Then we can have a democratic election. That's the more sensible option.

Seeing that we are living in the last days as Jesus foretold:

Matthew 24:3-8 Jesus says there will be wars and reports of wars. Nation will rise against nation, and Kingdom against Kingdom.
We already see this happening today.

I hope not. My boyfriend is from Israel and I don't want anything happening to his family. He would be so devastated and I would be sad for him. Innocent people shouldn't be harmed in any war.

I would guess the Ezekiel 38-9 prophecy will be fulfilled in the next 50 years. Good thing you said "try" because the attempt will end in failure by the russians and their pan-islamic allies.

They can try all they want to, it will not happen. Israel is God's chosen, he will look out for them.
