Sour cream is not cream that has had lemon juice, or a sour flavour added to it. It is cultured like yoghurt or buttermilk.
I would suggest you go to your closest supermarket and buy sour cream.

This is a good question. I know you can add lemon juice (or vinegar) to milk and let it sit for 10 minutes to make buttermilk, but not sure about the sour cream. I'm sure it would sour it, but it probably wouldn't make it thick like sour cream.

Maybe, but just a teaspoon or two of white vinegar will sour it perfectly for a recipe. Also, recipes which call for soured cream are still good if the cream isn't soured, just slightly different in taste, but stilll tasty.

You can, but it is probably cheaper to buy soured cream from the fridge section of a large supermarket

yes u can although add it slowly and not too much or else it will curdle. maybe 2 tablespoons per 500 ml is ok enough.good luck
