I have a Sony P200 digital camera. I am going to be in China and Japan and want a safe, reliable and quick way to save my photos. I've thought of memory cards and flickr pro accounts but want to know if anyone has any other thoughts

SD cards or CD-ROM. Make sure you make at least two copies and store them at different locations.

All the major companies have online photobooks now to store images- Kodak and Snapfish (jessops) spring to mind.

The plus side is that family and friends can look at them as well and keep up to date but the main downside is that it takes ages to load them up.

Also, I'm not sure if that would require you to download all the pictures onto a computer first.

In Boots etc here, you can take in your memory card and get the pictures put onto a CD. I'd imagine in Japan they'll have pretty high tech stuff- so there might be a more advanced version of this!

Have a great time!

If you want to store them so that you can easily access them and show them to friends in Japan or China, I would say on a CD or DVD. I assume that you will be taking your laptop along, but what if your laptop gave up on you for some reason? Many places will have DVD players that can play jpeg files so you will still be able to use them. Few will have USB to read a memory card and you may not have fast easy access to the internet.

If you're taking a laptop you could store them on there. I've seen devices that take images directly from the camera and store them on a hard drive, but I don't know what they're called.
