What are Mcats? do those who get into med school take them just after they finish high school or after they finish premed school? what started the whole thing was that i was watching Tru Calling the tv show and Tru is a college graduate who wants to take Mcats to get into med school.She already graduated from college y does she want to get into one again?my question is if some1 wants to be adoctor,what do they do in the U.S? what exams do they take?What's premed school?how long to u stay in there?what happens after it's over?how long do they stay in med school?

Wow.

You go to college for four years to get your undergrad....after that you take the Mcats to try and get into med school where you'll spend another 4-5 years.
Premed programs are designed to prepare you for med school. Undergrad degrees typically take 4 years.
When you're done, you intern somewhere.

MCATS are like the SAT you take to get into med school. It's an entrance exam. You apply for med school after 4 years in college--generally in a premed major. You spend 4 years in med school, but then you spend another several years doing specialty training (ex: surgical, pediatrics) and then internships and residencies...
