My fiance's parents split up recently after a 25 years marriage. I want to be there for my fiance; however, it seems like he is pushing me away. Should I be there for the him and the family or just back off right now?

Be there for him if he needs you, and let him know that but don't push it, he will talk when he is ready to or if he needs to talk. Try to give him some space if that is what he seems to prefer. Maybe plan a day for the two of you to get away from your family problems and just have some fun to get his mind off of things.

The best way to help in this situation is ice cream, warm soup and lots of hugs to acknowledge compassion but don't pretend to know how to fix the situation itself.
