Family Day lasts all day the day before the graduation...however they do have to go back to spend the night. Graduation seems like it lasts forever but really only lasts maybe an hour. It's hot in Columbus....very muggy even this time of year. Wear something that is cool but that you can layer because GA weather can be weird....steaming hot one day and frigid the next....so basically take something for either hot or cold weather. Most people just wear casual clothes so don't worry about dressing up because you'd probably get uncomfortable since you'll be going up and down bleachers. Also after the graduation it takes a little while for them to be released so you'll be hanging out for a while. I think it took about an hour or so for my husband to get released. Hope you guys have fun on his family day! And take lots of pictures of his graduation! ;-)

Ignore Hugh Morris123. He's a mean spirited nut with multiple personalities.

I don't know how long it lasts, but I just wanted you to have another answer besides Hugh Morris 123's.

You don't have to dress up for family day. When you attend graduation, I would suggest "business casual". It's more of a briefing than a graduation... but it will be nice to attend.

(To the other poster... it's the new touchy feely army to make the family feel included. It gives the families a lot of information about ACS and other agencies for the families... that many promptly forget about and whine on Yahoo! Answers instead.)

I would not dress as though you are going to the prom, but I woud dress nice. The graduants will be in their uniforms, and I do not think that it lasts all that long. I did this over ten years ago, so I do not remember a whole lot.

What happened to the army? When I finished basic there was no graduation. I picked up my duffel bag and went to my next duty assignment. A few schools later I graduated from Airborne (parachute school) and they had a little ceremony, I even got a hefty parachute statue for making honor graduate. Then I was off to my next assignment. We never heard of graduation from basic. Everyone goes through basic.

Once again Hugh Morris shows what a traitor he is.
Tell your boyfriend REAL AMERICANS appreciate his service and know the U.S. military is the greatest in the world.
Guess Hugh is peeved because he was too scared to join?
