Depends on where he lives and how big his congregation is. Here in L.A. - that does not sound like all that much.

I think it is according to the total amount that the church brings in. For example a church that brings in 6 million dollars per year would do the pastor a disservice by only paying him 130,000. But if the church were really struggling a only bringing in 250,000. and the pastor were getting half, I feel that it is ridiculous.
A good rule to follow is the model of the Levitical tribe. (priests) Every other tribe was supposed to contribute 10% to the priests because they did not work in the fields, masonry, etc. I think that if the pastor gets around 10% of the church's gross annual income that is fair.

The question should never be how much he is making, but what is he doing with it. God has blessed us to be a blessing to others. He didnt give us money just so we can buy big houses and fancy cars, but so that we can feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and share the truth.
I dont care if he makes 50 Million, but what is he doing with it.
i faithfully tithe 10% and make generous offerings, and God continues to bless me. i make far more now than before i became a tither.
Malachi 3:8-10
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

$130,000 a year is definitely too much.
I think that anything over $60,000 is excessive, considering he should be living his life for God and it's not about money. This is sufficient to live off of, even with a family. People all over the country do it all time, although it is meager living. Isn't it easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into Heaven? Pastors shouldn't care how much money they make as long as they can have food, shelter, and clothing.

Where'd he live and what were his responsibilities. If he was on call 24/7 for sick visits, took care of the church, delivered 3 sermons on Wednesday, taught Wednesday night Bible studies, preached 4 sermons on Saturday and four services on Sunday, and was the school principle or administrator, I'd say it was reasonable, especially if he lives in a large city.

It depends? On how he is using it, if he is using it for his own selfish gain? God will judge us, not man. So i dont wish to get involved on this topic
