Has anyone tried putting egg on their...?

hair? I read somewhere that egg yolk mixed with olive oil is really good at making your hair shine. Has anyone tried this & did it work? Doesn't it make your hair greasy with olive oil? If it does work, how often should you do it?

I read this in a Girls book "How to be the best at everything" & my girls wanted to try it so I thought I'd see if anyone else had.

Please don't try washing it out with hot water. My sister did and she ended up with more or less scrambled eggs in her hair.

Oh, I haven't heard of that one!!

My friend uses olive oil on her hair in summer time (puts it on then sits in the sun for a while), she said it worked well.

I also know of girls who cover their hair in mayonnaise, they say it works really well. I guess mayonnaise is made of similar things - eggs and oil. But wouldn't you smell funny?

As long as you only apply it to the ends of the hair (not the scalp) it shouldn't leave your hair greasy when you wash it out.

Surely a better option to buy some hot oil products from Boots? They are very very good!

You have to be really careful with stuff like this... Seriouslt if you put egg in your hair and then the water is too hot the egg white starts to go whiter like it does when you cook it n you dont want that in your hair. It can also smell really bad aless you wash it out fully.

Oil is never a good idea in your hair aless you know what you are doing as its hard to wash out and can make your hair very limp n greesy looking.

You would be best buying a good proper conditioner. Joico do some very good ones.

You smell like Olive Oil for a few days. Other then that, what works better for me is a can or 2 of beer. I pour that on my hear, then put the conditioner in, and let it sit for a few minutes. I learned this while living in Costa Rica.

I would do it, my friend did and it was a pain to wash out, i would reccomend pantene pro v ice shine shampoo and conditioner and tehy also do a serum in the same range, also toni and guy shie spray works well and it smells lovely. Also blasting your hair with cold water after using hot makes it shine too.

Hi there not to worry, my sister uses egg and olive on her hair belive me it is good..the only thing is mixed the two ingriedients together massage in to your hair leave on for couple of hours and go wash it out,,, it is good..

I've also heard this. Tried it once and ended up with scrambled egg in my hair when washing it out! I've also heard that mayonnaise is really good for your hair. Not tried this one but going to do it soon.

Yes it does work I use it a lot also a good tip is to rinse your hair with vinegar it really makes it shine particularly good for dark hair.

well. forget the egg!! just tip the whole oil on your head that will make your hair shine!

--if you put oil on someones head, its going to obviously make their hair shine as its....OIL!!! its grease! and it will be a bugger to get out!
i have shiny hair, wanna know what i use, coconut shampoo and conditioner. but if you still wanna put a pot of oil on your girls head, go ahead! I just think its a silly thing to do,
Oh and im just voicing my opinion, which im entitled to.

Maybe you should just try it, see what happens, if its really hard to get out, get a good grease hair shampoo to get that grease out.

Any brand Coconut shampoo and conditioner is really good, so is Papaya.

I tried it with a boiled egg but it kept rolling off so i just stick to fried eggs now!?
