Hi! Ok well I really like this totally gorgeous guy, but whenever I see him I look away but I really want to smile or say hi, but aren't guys supposed to not like this as they prefer to be the one to make the first move?

Yes, exactly. What us guys really like is for a girl we are interested in to not show interest back! When a girl smiles at me I instantly lose interest, and I only ever approach the ones who pretend I don't exist or look at me with contempt. When a girl comes up to me and chats to me I tend to move away as I always like to make the first move, and confident girls make me scared.

My other (less sarcastic) answer is: show you are interested by smiling, saying 'hi' and approaching him. He may not believe you are interested, or that you are not available. Give it a go! Good luck!

If he's not making a move then you need to. Wouldn't bother me a bit to have a gal make the first move on me, I'm usually busy thinking about other things in my life and don't pay alot of attention. I don't think a casual move is outta place at all it's the one's that throw themselves at you as soon as you meet that puts me off....you have to wonder about what their motives are. So give'em a big smile and make eye contact and start a conversation....nothing ventured...nothing gained!

Well that is just an assumption that has been made over the years. Sometimes guys like to be approached and if he hasn't approached you maybe he is just as shy as you seem to be. But dont worry the worst he could tell you is no. I mean you are not with him now so if he tells you no you will never wonder what could have been. If he says yes then it is awesome for you. Each guy is different. Some guys like girls who are more forward. Sometimes I love it when a girl comes up to me and strikes up a conversation. If you like this guy then talk to him.. Hopefully it will all work out. Good luck

Guys do NOT like to make the first move as far more clueless and shy then you are.
they have no idea mostly what move to make and are convinced if they try you girls witll hate them, treat them like perves, never want to speak to them again and they dont have a hope in hell.
So you making first move lets them relax as you are safe to approach.
