I throw my three dogs their own birthday parites every year. Its really fun and the dogs have a blast.

Some games I play is (summer time) ball bobbing my kiddie pool.. You take a ton of tennis balls and put them in a hard plasitc kiddy pool, let the dogs go fish them out, the one with the most wins.

Another (my favorite) is everyone gets a wrapped, flimbsy box with a tasty treat(s) in it. Poke holes in the box so they can get a good wiff of it, and give everyone their present. The one to tear open their box and get their treat first..... gets their treat(s).

Another fun one is hide and seek, take some tasty smelly treats and hide them all over your yard, and let your pups go on a treat hunt.

I aslo make a all organic, rice, potatoe, chicken and spinage cake for my dogs (baked) and sprinkle it with their favorite yogurt dropes.

With my dogs he also gets to tear open his presents in their boxes. Its great fun, but a mess later..... its no different then my two year old ripping apart her packages when she gets presents, you just have to make sure they don't eat it.

With the people, you can set up a slip and side, no body can pass up that, with some human goodies and a cake or cupcakes, some beverages (adult or non adult - wink) and the people will have much entertainment watching their pooches go crazy with the doggie games.
Just some ideas that I use on my doggies birthdays. Have fun and good luck.

Spin the bottle??? I have for dogs and I have never thought of giving them a party because frankly every day is a party for them at Casa De CoolHand. I think the parties are more for the humans involved than the dogs but it sounds like it could be fun if you invite the right humans. Make them bring the games that way you make sure to do something fun that the humans enjoy, I would also try the DVD of the "Price is Right" game as that is a blast for both dogs and humans Mine barks every time you spin the wheel!

The ones having fun throughout the party are the humans, your dog wouldn't even knows what's going on.

Its more like your party then your dog's party.

Just buy some gifts or food for your dog.

Or to make it more special, bring your dog to a photoshoot.

That would be nostalgic.

Try 'hide the treat' every guest gets a treat to hide in their clothing then they lie down on the floor and your dog gets to find it without the guest laughing or they have to get on all fours and act like a dog for 30 seconds.

Aw come on no other cute LITTLE, key word was little, doggies that's no fun for your pet at least bring one dog. Dogs don't like to play human games so it would be better if oyu bring other dogs so your dog will feel like the party is really for the dogs!!!!!!!!

Pin the bow on the Schnauzer game
Have everyone bring their favorite homemade treat and the recipe
Pass around hors d'oeuvres shaped like dog bones and dogs and cats
Serve German drinks like Schnapps, lager, bach beer and German foods like bratwurst and sauerkraut
I'd also have everyone bring a gift of decent quality food or treats for the local shelter. They also appreciate things like grooming supplies and collars for the dogs to wear home after adoption.
