How long does it take for your treatment to start working? How long do your cold sores last? Thanks in advance!!

Abreva or herpacin L, it starts working right away and mine last about 2-3 days. One trick is though make sure you keep applying...all the time!

I don't get cold sores, but my boyfriend does and I agree that Abreva would help, but you might also want to try getting a perscription from your doctor for Valtrex, the anti-Herpes pill. Most people don't know that cold sore/fever blisters are actually a strain of the Herpes virus. Be caureful when you have an outbreak because can be spread Herpes to others either through mouth-to-mouth contact or mouth-to-genital contact. Use an over-the-counter like Abreva, but also visit your doctor for additional treatment and to run an STD test. Good luck.

Abreva It takes a day or two can last up to a week or longer.

Campho-Phenique cold sore treatment it comes in a small tube my husband uses it , it stinks but highly effective. he also uses it for blisters in his jaw and clears up in a few days.
