I had the same thing when I was 17 - check your temperature, and hold you head still to check if your eyes hurt when you move them to look up, down, side to side. If your eyes hurt when you do that, and you have a temperature, then your symptoms sound EXACTLY like mine did.

I had viral meningitis - and like you, waited about three weeks before seeing a doctor, and only went then because my friends carted me off!

You need to see a GP quickly. If that's what it is, it needs monitoring and lots of rest and aspirin (I found that much better than any other painkillers).

Go see your GP quickly. Even if it is viral meningitis, don't panic - it's not the dangerous one.

Good luck!

As you can see from the varied answers above, there are a lot of possible explanations for the symptons you describe. It's advisable that you consult a doctor if any ailments/sympoms persist for more than a week or if they do not go away after taking regular, over-the-counter pain killers. P
lease, make an appointment with your GP.

Your pain could be anything, as i've said above but it is the time of year for hayfeaver to begin its first flare-ups of the season. You might have developed an allergy to pollen. - similarly, an alergy to something else ... Have you been introduced to any new laundry detergents/personal grooming products?

Do other people in your house suffer the same symptoms? It could be an environmental issue of some sort.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

You probably want to see a doctor about this. I have an aunt who was having headaches all the time and her vision was starting to be blurry. She finally went to the doctor and she had a tumor the size of a basball on her brain they called it a meningioma and she had to have it surgically removed. Good thing is she has fully recovered and she is just the same. So, please don't ignore this for too long. Better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck!!!

Go to the doctor now!! They can find out what is wrong and treat you for it!! Don't suffer let them deal with and help get the pain under control and maybe make it go away with the right treatment! Life is too short to suffer from headaches! This sounds serious, don't mess around with your health.
