Generally, your overall height is not an issue, it is more to do with your leg length. However, I know of a website that sells it's MTB's by height. Here is their guide... (sorry, you'll have to convert to metric)

18" - 5'8"-5'10"
19" - 5'11"-6'1"
20" - 6'2"-6'3"
22" - 6'4"+

To be honest, if you buy from any bike retailer they should be able to recommend the frame size. The only real way to make sure it is right is to get on the bikes and try them.

Never the less mountain biking is a brilliant sport, so don't delay, get one now and go have some fun.

Okay, height does matter regardless of some previous remarks before mine, but that's just part of the equation. Other stuff that matters is your inseam (leg lenght), arms and what you want to do with your bike.

There are some websites that can give some ball park figures on the right size bike, but that's just an aproximate.

Going to a good bike shop will bring you more advice. They can tell if a frame fits you, or you need to find a larger/smaller one.

Most probably you will need an L or XL size, depending on brand. Your best thing is to test them before buying, since a L for brand 'X' might feel like XL for brand 'Y'.

Your size matters, but most important is you inseam measurement, arms length, back lenght, etc.

A good bike shop will help you finding a bike size that suits you.Usually a size L or XL will be about what you need. But that is not all, setting the seat height, the handlebar height, the length of the stem, etc. are all adjustments that need to be done with care to ensure a proper fitting and comfort. This will prevent injuries and add comfort and enjoyment.

So do not be shy on asking for help at a good bike shop.

Also, let them know what kind of riding you intend to do, that will determine not only the size, but he kind of frame (and possibly attachments) you may need.

Height doesn't really matter. it's the length of your legs that sets the best size, go along to a cycle shop and try a few.

all depends on leg size, if you can touch the ground with both feet then that is the right height for you
