ok, i am having a gallstone removed surgically in a few weeks, i have to know why i am getting rapid heart palpitations at night, they come and go. should i be worried about that or does it all have to do with my gallstone.

Heart rate and gallstones are not related. What is likely causing the heart palpitations is stress in anticipation of the surgery. This is quite common.

To be on the safe side, contact your surgeon and inform him of your rapid heartbeat. He might want to have you come in to check it out,although he will likely chaulk it up to stress as well.

This has nothing to do with your gallstones.

Talk to your family doctor about the palpitations. Many people do have palpitations while being healthy, but they can be an indicator of a problem, especially in people who are smokers or overweight.

I don't think that has anything to do with your gall stones. You need to make your doctor aware of this, but it may only be anxiety. Take care.
