The doctor in the newest Star Trek show, the one about some of the earliest adventures. It is supposed to take place before Kirk. In the doctor's culture, each person has three spouses.
And I can't think of the name right now. Damn!
P'landin of Vulcan: Thanks. I kept thinking it was Star Trek: Enterprise, but it seemed to easy. Yes, it is Dr. Phlox, but it wasn't many, just three each. I remember thinking they could marry for money, love, and a freebie.

one of the earliest episodes was "Mudds Women".
An alien named Mudd had 3 to 5 women .. but they turn out to be manipulating him for their own purposes in the end.
The main race that dominated women were the Ferengi. Quark's mother was an exception to the rule ... she refused to go around without clothes on (as men insisted their women do) and even ran a few successful businesses.
Most viewer consider Ferengi the most selfish race in Star Trek.

There was an episode in TNG where they lived in utopia. Looks like people were getting it on with whomever they fancied up on that planet.
